The District Chief Executive for Ho West District Assembly, Mr Francis Profer Dusey, has intensified efforts to promote grassroots development by engaging residents of Abutia Kpota in direct discussions on the community’s development needs.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders, including traditional authorities, assembly members, opinion leaders, and youth representatives, creating a platform for residents to directly share their concerns and expectations with local authorities.
Leading the traditional delegation was Torgbui Tsali, who joined discussions focused on improving development outcomes in the area.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Dusey stressed that effective development can only be achieved when communities are actively involved in decision-making processes.
“Development must be driven by the voices of the people,” he stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration between government and residents.
He explained that the engagement was aimed at identifying urgent community challenges and ensuring that development interventions reflect the real needs of residents.
Traditional leaders welcomed the initiative and pledged their continued support for policies and programmes that promote peace, unity, and progress within the district.
Youth representatives also played a key role during the discussions by raising concerns about livelihoods and opportunities for young people in the area.
Their participation highlighted growing efforts to include young voices in shaping development priorities.
The open dialogue allowed residents to openly discuss local challenges while strengthening trust between the assembly and the community.
Officials say the Ho West District Assembly plans to continue such engagements as part of efforts to promote inclusive and people-centred development across the district.
