The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the opening of nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections, with the process scheduled to commence on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
In a press release issued by the NDC National Secretariat on Thursday, September 10, 2026, the party said the opening of nominations marks an important stage in its internal electoral process and urged all interested members to take advantage of the prescribed period to file their nominations.
Online payment mandatory
The party stated that all payments relating to the picking and filing of nominations must be made strictly through its online portal, forms.ghanandc.com, using mobile money across all networks.
According to the release, aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must be members in good standing of the party and must have fully settled their membership dues for the past four years.
Members with outstanding dues have been directed to settle their arrears through *920*25# or the party’s dues platform.
Campaigning officially opened
The NDC also announced that campaign activities for aspirants contesting the 2026 internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels are officially open.
Party officials, including regional and constituency officers as well as ward coordinators, have consequently been directed to allow candidates to conduct campaign activities within their respective jurisdictions.
The party, however, issued an important caveat concerning persons seeking parliamentary office.
Parliamentary aspirants excluded
The National Secretariat clarified that the campaign window for the constituency executive elections does not apply to persons pursuing parliamentary ambitions.
This includes sitting Members of Parliament and individuals currently considering or openly expressing an intention to contest parliamentary elections.
The NDC warned that such persons are not permitted to engage in campaign activities under the newly opened window and that any breach of the directive would be treated seriously and dealt with in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.
Call for discipline
The National Secretariat urged all constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process.
It further called for the full cooperation of party members to ensure a transparent, peaceful, orderly and successful internal election.
The statement was signed by Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary, for the General Secretary.
