In an official acceptance and appreciation statement issued on October 5, 2026, newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, extended his heartfelt gratitude to party delegates, executives, and grassroots supporters following his election victory.
The statement marks the beginning of a new leadership era as the party turns its focus toward internal consolidation and preparing for the next general election cycle.
In the address titled “Thank You for the Confidence Reposed in Me,” Boadu framed his victory as a deep privilege, giving glory to God and describing the role as a profound responsibility. He acknowledged the central role played by campaign team members, volunteers, and supporters, emphasizing that their dedication and shared belief in the party’s vision were crucial in securing the mandate.
However, Boadu was quick to emphasize that the victory belonged to the party as a whole rather than to any single individual or internal faction. Reaching out to those who contested against him, he offered a message of unity and collaborative leadership aimed at healing internal rivalries.
“To my fellow contestants, I extend my hand of friendship and partnership,” Boadu stated. “Your ideas, experience, and commitment remain valuable assets to our Party. From this moment, there are no winners and losers, only one NPP, united in purpose and determined to win in 2028.”
Addressing the broader organizational structure, Boadu pledged to maintain an open-door policy centered on consultation, mutual respect, and active listening. He stressed that unity within the party does not require uniformity of thought, noting that diverse perspectives across the membership should serve as a source of strength rather than division.
Looking ahead, the newly elected Chairman outlined clear strategic priorities for his administration. Central to his vision is the comprehensive rebuilding of internal party structures, the promotion of strict organizational discipline, and the protection of integrity in all future internal elections. He also emphasized the urgent need to re-engage young voters, specifically highlighting plans to revitalize the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) to restore the party’s presence across university campuses and tertiary institutions.
To accomplish these goals, Boadu committed to working closely with all key organs of the party, including the General Secretary, newly elected national, regional, and constituency executives, the Council of Elders, External Branches, Members of Parliament, voluntary groups, communicators, and the media.
Concluding his message, Boadu called on the rank and file to join hands in rebuilding trust and restoring confidence across every level of the organization. He expressed optimism that a united front, combined with disciplined organization, would pave the way to secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 elections.
