The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK), Mr. Daniel Mensah Wardy, has reaffirmed the district’s commitment to improving essential services for residents, stressing that community development remains the administration’s top priority.
Addressing the assembly, Mr. Mensah said ongoing education, healthcare and water supply projects would significantly enhance access to vital services once completed. He assured stakeholders that all projects were progressing steadily and would be delivered within schedule for public use.
Key developments include the construction of six-unit classroom blocks with offices and toilet facilities at Okyiriku and Abura Emperow, as well as a two-unit classroom block at Abaasa/Surowodofo. The facilities, he said, would ease congestion in schools and provide a better learning environment for children in the affected communities.
In the health sector, new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compounds are underway at Nyamedom and Ohiaba, aimed at expanding primary healthcare access for rural residents. He added that the CHPS Compound at Abura Abeka had been fully completed and was ready for commissioning.
The DCE also highlighted the district’s investment in mechanised boreholes across selected communities to improve access to potable water and reduce reliance on unsafe water sources.
Mr. Mensah commended contractors working on the various projects for their dedication and urged them to maintain momentum to ensure timely completion. He noted that the successful execution of these projects would uplift living standards and support economic growth across the district.
“Our focus is to ensure every community feels the impact of local development,” he emphasised. “Residents deserve quality infrastructure and social services that improve everyday life, and we remain committed to delivering that.”
