Mr Alfred Believe Ahiatsi, a National Communications member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced his bid for the position of Volta Regional Organiser, pledging to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and broaden its support base in the region.
Mr Ahiatsi, who served as Volta Regional Coordinator for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s identifiable group campaign during the 2024 general elections, said his decision was motivated by a desire to reposition the party for greater political growth in the Volta Region.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he said stronger party organisation and effective mobilisation were critical to building unity and increasing the NPP’s competitiveness in the region.
He noted that his leadership would focus on strengthening grassroots engagement and creating opportunities that would attract more people to the party.
Mr Ahiatsi said he would champion initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare, education and social welfare programmes in communities across the Volta Region.
He also pledged to promote inclusiveness and transparency within the party, stressing that greater citizen participation in decision-making would help build trust among party members and the wider public.
According to him, strategic partnerships with stakeholders, organisations and government agencies would also be key to unlocking resources and expertise needed to drive development in the region.
He said creating equal opportunities for all members would remain central to his agenda, adding that fair participation and inclusive leadership would help strengthen the party’s fortunes.
Mr Ahiatsi expressed optimism that with unity, dedication and effective grassroots mobilisation, the NPP could make significant electoral gains while contributing to the development of the Volta Region.
