Ghanaians from all walks of life are rallying behind the families affected by the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, with the Children Support Fund drawing remarkable support in just over a week of its launch.
Between August 19 and 28, contributions from corporate institutions and individuals have poured in, reflecting the country’s compassion during a time of grief.
The Presidency announced that donations currently stand at GHC 3,576,600 and US$20,000, with more expected in the coming weeks.
Established to secure the education and welfare of children who lost parents in the tragic incident, the Fund has become a symbol of national solidarity.
“This outpouring of support is a testament to Ghana’s unity in times of adversity,” said Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor and Coordinator of the initiative.
To assure the public of accountability, the Presidency has pledged to release weekly lists of donors, while encouraging further contributions through designated Stanbic Bank Ghana accounts in both local and foreign currency.
Dr. Sawyerr stressed that the Fund will be managed with the highest level of prudence and transparency, guaranteeing that every cedi and dollar received will go directly to safeguarding the future of the children left behind.
