Newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has begun his tenure with a call for unity and reconciliation, saying the party must put internal differences behind it to regain political power in 2028.
Popularly known as Asanteman COKA, the chairman-elect pledged to lead the party with humility, discipline and dedication as he works to rebuild the NPP’s strength in the Ashanti Region.
He said his new position was a responsibility he would not take for granted, and expressed his commitment to working with all sections of the party to strengthen its structures ahead of the next general election.
“I will lead with humility, unity, discipline and dedication to restore the NPP to power in 2028,” he stated.
COKA urged members who had grievances arising from the party’s internal processes to set them aside and focus on building a stronger and more cohesive organisation.
He said unity would be essential if the NPP was to successfully reposition itself and mount a formidable challenge in the 2028 elections.
The new regional chairman also extended an olive branch to contestants who lost in the regional elections, assuring them that they would have opportunities to contribute to the administration.
“To all candidates who contested, especially those who were unsuccessful, there is a place for you in my administration. Your experience, ideas and commitment are valuable to the party,” he said.
He stressed that the rebuilding of the party could not be achieved by the elected executives alone and required the collective contribution of members across the region.
COKA expressed appreciation to delegates for entrusting him with the leadership of the Ashanti Regional NPP and pledged to justify the confidence placed in him.
His call for unity comes as the NPP intensifies its internal reorganisation following the regional elections, with the party seeking to strengthen its structures and prepare for the 2028 general elections.
