Political scientist Dr. Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr has expressed concern over what he describes as growing indiscipline within state institutions, warning that recent public disagreements point to a breakdown in respect for established authority structures.
He argued that some public officials and agencies are increasingly engaging in open disagreements with sector ministers, a development he says undermines orderly governance and coordination.
Citing past tensions involving the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), he questioned why an administrator would find themselves in direct public confrontation with the Minister of Education.
“How on earth can the GETFund administrator dare to cross ways with the Minister of Education?” he asked, describing the situation as troubling.
Speaking on Joy News, Dr. Bomfeh characterised such incidents as evidence of a wider governance challenge rooted in what he termed a “lack of discipline.”
He maintained that effective public administration depends on strict adherence to mandate boundaries and respect for hierarchical authority within government structures.
