As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) navigates a turbulent period marked by internal rivalry, prominent campaign figure Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku has thrown his weight behind Dr. Bryan Acheampong, urging the party to prioritize unity ahead of upcoming leadership contests.
In a statement on July 22, Dr. Kojo Opoku highlighted growing concerns that factionalism within the party—likened to “two elephants fighting”—is distracting from the NPP’s ability to regroup effectively as the main opposition.
Stressing the need for a unifying figure, Dr. Kojo Opoku presented Dr. Acheampong as the leader capable of bridging divides and safeguarding the party’s grassroots from further fragmentation.
“Without a leader who can bring harmony and collaboration, the party risks exacerbating internal tensions that threaten its electoral viability,” he warned.
The endorsement underscores a broader anxiety among NPP members about the consequences of prolonged infighting, with Dr. Kojo Opoku positioning Dr. Acheampong as the consensus candidate to restore cohesion and strengthen party structures.
As the NPP charts its path toward 2028, voices like Dr. Kojo Opoku’s emphasize that internal solidarity is not just desirable—it is essential for political survival.
