Goalkeeper Fadila Musah emerged as the hero as Brong Ahafo Region defeated Northern Region 3-1 on penalties to win the Elite U17 Girls Competition in Prampram.
The final ended 0-0 after regulation time, with both teams creating scoring opportunities but failing to find a breakthrough.
Brong Ahafo came closest to opening the scoring in the first half when Mercy Akilvoa produced an impressive solo run before striking the post.
Northern Region also threatened after the break, but Mohammed Ruhia’s effort was comfortably dealt with by Musah, who remained composed throughout the contest.
With neither side able to break the deadlock, the championship was decided by a penalty shootout.
Musah produced a remarkable display by saving three penalties, giving Brong Ahafo a 3-1 shootout victory and securing the regional side the Elite U17 Girls Championship title.
Her outstanding performance proved decisive in a tightly contested final and ensured Brong Ahafo finished the tournament as champions.
