Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has extended support to the country’s national Under-17 and Under-20 women’s football teams with a donation of assorted items aimed at improving their welfare during ongoing preparations for international competitions.
The items were presented on her behalf on Friday, May 22, 2026, by the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, at the GFA Technical Centre.
The donation included cartons of Milo, toiletries, tissue rolls, soft drinks, and other essentials to support the players and technical teams in camp as they prepare for upcoming assignments.
The gesture is intended to boost morale and ensure improved living conditions for the two national youth teams as they gear up for key tournaments.
The Black Maidens are currently preparing for their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Liberia in the first-leg match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Princesses, on the other hand, have already secured qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after defeating Uganda, maintaining Ghana’s record of eight consecutive appearances at the tournament.
The support comes at a crucial time as both squads intensify preparations to represent Ghana on the international stage, with expectations high for strong performances in their respective competitions.
