Ghana Water Limited (GWL) is set to undertake a major reorganisation of its workforce, with several officers being transferred across regional offices and operational units as part of efforts to address staffing and operational requirements.
The changes, approved by Managing Director Adam Mutawakilu, are contained in a memo dated August 5, 2026, and will take effect from October 1, 2026.
The exercise affects personnel across various levels and departments, including chief managers, managers, senior finance officers, communications officers, regional finance officers, human resource officers, distribution officers, customer care personnel and technical staff.
The transfers cover a wide range of GWL’s operations, including the Head Office, Accra West, Accra South, Northern, Upper West, Western, Ashanti, Ashanti South, Central and Volta regions.
According to the company, the reshuffle is intended, among other things, to respond to operational demands and address staffing requirements at various locations.
The movement of personnel also includes changes within the company’s communications, finance and human resource functions, with some officers being reassigned to the Head Office while others are posted to regional offices.
GWL said the transfers are permanent, requiring affected officers to report to their new stations in accordance with the effective date.
As part of the transition process, the affected staff have been directed to prepare comprehensive handing-over notes outlining their duties, responsibilities and other relevant functions before departing their current posts.
The latest exercise is expected to redistribute expertise and personnel across GWL’s operational structures as the company seeks to strengthen its administration and service delivery across the country.
