As part of its commitment to deepening grassroots governance, the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs has unveiled a new set of District Chief Executive (DCE) nominees across several regions.
The nominees, drawn from diverse backgrounds, are expected to assume office pending approval by their respective district assemblies.
This fresh round of nominations spans the Bono East, Bono, Upper West, Western, and Central Regions, with additional candidates selected from the Upper East, Northern, and Ashanti Regions.
It signals the government’s ongoing effort to ensure effective leadership at the district level and accelerate development through responsive local administration.
The move comes on the heels of a similar announcement made last week, demonstrating a strategic push to fill vacant or transitioning leadership positions across the country’s decentralized governance structure.
Once approved, the appointees will be tasked with coordinating government initiatives, facilitating development projects, and promoting civic engagement within their districts.
The Ministry has emphasized that these appointments are crucial in reinforcing the pillars of local democracy, ensuring that communities are served by capable leaders equipped to address their unique challenges and drive inclusive growth.
A full list of the newly nominated DCEs has been made available for public review, with assembly confirmation processes expected to commence shortly.
