Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba, has strongly refuted corruption allegations made against him by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, describing them as false, misleading, and injurious to his reputation.
The Attorney General, speaking at the Government Accountability Series in Accra, revealed that investigators had traced more than GH¢40 million in transfers made through a private firm, Sawtina Enterprise, to multiple individuals and entities allegedly linked to Hanan’s tenure at NAFCO. The revelations have since sparked public debate about possible financial irregularities under the former CEO’s leadership.
But in a swift response issued on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Hanan Aludiba distanced himself from the claims, maintaining that he had no involvement in any corrupt dealings or financial misappropriation.
“My attention has been drawn to recent statements made by the Honourable Attorney General during a press engagement, in which my name was mentioned in connection with allegations of corruption,” he stated.
“I wish to state, respectfully, that these claims are untrue and do not reflect the facts of the matter.”
He described the allegations as “deeply unfortunate” and “potentially damaging,” emphasizing that he has never been questioned or invited by any investigative authority over the said transactions.
According to Hanan, the public airing of his name without evidence or due process undermines the principles of fairness and presumption of innocence.
“It is regrettable that such statements were made in the public space before any official engagement with me,” he added. “I have always conducted myself with integrity and transparency in public service.”
The former CEO disclosed that he has engaged legal counsel to review the matter and explore available options to defend his reputation.
“I look forward to the opportunity to present my side and to have my day in court, where I am confident that the truth will be made clear,” he affirmed.
Hanan Aludiba’s response adds a new twist to the ongoing investigations into alleged financial irregularities at the National Food and Buffer Stock Company, which has faced public scrutiny in recent months over payment backlogs to food suppliers and questions surrounding its financial management.
While the Attorney General’s office insists the revelations are part of efforts to ensure accountability in state institutions, the former CEO’s rebuttal sets the stage for what could become a high-profile legal and political confrontation in the coming weeks.
