Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu is expected to provide details of the government’s GH¢3 billion infrastructure programme aimed at supporting the abolition of the double-track system in senior high schools.
The Minister will speak on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the Government Accountability Series organised by the Presidency Communications Office.
The programme, scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., will provide the Minister with an opportunity to present a mid-year assessment of developments in the education sector.
A key focus of the presentation is expected to be the infrastructure programme recently approved by Cabinet to expand capacity in senior high schools and support the government’s plan to end the double-track system.
The Minister is also expected to outline progress made in the education sector during the first half of 2026 and address questions surrounding the implementation of government policies and programmes.
The accountability forum forms part of efforts by the government to provide regular updates on its performance and explain the progress of major interventions across various sectors.
The Education Minister’s presentation is therefore expected to provide further insight into the government’s strategy for addressing infrastructure gaps in senior high schools and improving the delivery of education nationwide.
