Accra Hearts of Oak has moved to clarify the transfer situation surrounding goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, dismissing reports that the club has placed a valuation on the player following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement issued by the club, the Phobians described claims circulating in the media and on social platforms about an official transfer fee for the goalkeeper as inaccurate and unauthorised.
“Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare and has not authorised any individual or media outlet to communicate any transfer value on behalf of the club,” the club stated.
The clarification comes amid increasing speculation about the future of the goalkeeper, whose displays on football’s biggest stage have reportedly generated interest from potential suitors.
While denying that a specific price has been set, Hearts of Oak indicated that it remains willing to consider offers that align with the interests of both the player and the club.
The club stressed that any figures currently being mentioned publicly are merely speculation and do not represent an official position.
“Hearts of Oak remains open to receiving and considering offers that serve the best interests of both Benjamin Asare and the club,” the statement added.
The club further urged supporters, media organisations and football stakeholders to rely on official communication channels for accurate information regarding player transfers.
Hearts of Oak also congratulated Asare for his performances at the World Cup, describing his achievement as a reflection of the club’s contribution to Ghanaian football development.
The club assured fans that it would continue to support the goalkeeper’s growth while protecting the team’s interests as discussions over his future potentially emerge.
