Ghana’s Embassy in Doha has stepped up emergency preparedness efforts by calling on all Ghanaian nationals living in Qatar to urgently register with the mission amid rising tensions in the region.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Embassy explained that the directive forms part of precautionary measures to ensure swift communication and possible evacuation coordination should the security situation deteriorate.
The mission stressed that registration is critical to strengthening its ability to account for and assist Ghanaian citizens in times of crisis. It noted that the move has been necessitated by heightened unrest within the region, which could require rapid response actions.
The directive covers all categories of Ghanaian nationals in Qatar, including students, workers, families and short-term visitors. Those yet to register have been advised to complete an online form accessible through the Embassy’s official communication platforms.
Officials assured that personal information submitted would be handled with strict confidentiality and used exclusively for official consular and emergency purposes.
The Embassy further indicated that it will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates through its verified channels as part of efforts to safeguard the welfare of Ghanaians in Qatar.
