Debibi United produced a stunning second-half comeback to secure a historic place in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League after defeating Tamale City FC 3-1 in the Access Bank Division One League playoff final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Tamale City looked set for an immediate return to Ghana’s top-flight after taking the lead in the first half and controlling early proceedings.
However, Debibi United returned from the break with renewed determination as striker Kwadwo Antwi delivered a sensational performance, scoring a second-half hat-trick to complete a dramatic turnaround.
Antwi’s three goals not only sealed victory for Debibi United but also confirmed the club’s first-ever promotion to the Premier League, marking a major milestone in the club’s history.
