MTN Group’s sustained influence across the African continent has earned it a prestigious place in the inaugural Brand Africa Hall of Fame, cementing its status as a powerhouse in telecommunications, social impact, and brand excellence.
Announced during the release of the 2025 Brand Africa 100 rankings, the honour recognises MTN for its “transformational impact on African consumers” and its contribution to shaping a positive narrative about the continent. This new Hall of Fame category acknowledges brands that have consistently demonstrated excellence and influence over the last decade.
In addition to its induction, MTN scooped four top accolades:
- #1 Most Admired African Brand Contributing to a Better Africa
- #1 Most Admired African Brand (Spontaneous Recall)
- #1 Most Admired Brand Doing Good for Society and the Environment
- #1 Most Admired Telecommunications Brand
MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita expressed pride in the recognition, especially as it coincides with Africa Month. “It reflects the progress we continue to make as a continent and the role trusted brands must play in advancing inclusive, digitally enabled growth,” he said.
Mupita credited MTN employees, partners, and stakeholders for driving the brand’s success. Operating in 16 African countries, MTN continues to be guided by its Ambition 2025 strategy: Leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress—a mission centred on digital access, financial inclusion, and innovation.
Further solidifying its brand leadership, MTN was also named South Africa’s most valuable brand for 2025 in the Brand Finance Top 100 Report, with a valuation of R50.7 billion—an accolade it has held since 2012.
This dual recognition underscores MTN’s enduring role as a brand not only admired by Africans but one that’s actively building the continent’s future.
