The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) is crediting enhanced leadership and operational reforms for a string of recent drug seizures, including a major cocaine interception on April 23.
Four Ghanaian nationals were arrested at Swiss Port after 73 slabs of suspected cocaine—weighing 89.74 kilograms—were uncovered in a shipment bound for the Netherlands.
Speaking on Citi FM, NACOC Deputy Director General Alexander Twum Barimah said the bust signals improved oversight and a clampdown on traffickers who once exploited weak systems.
“Now we have quality and relentless leaders making sure this drug trade doesn’t pass through our borders unchecked,” he emphasized.
