The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed strong confidence in defeating the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in any free and fair election, citing public dissatisfaction with the opposition and the importance of electoral transparency.
Rashid Tanko-Computer, Deputy Director for IT and Elections at the NDC, made the comments during an interview on Star FM, emphasising that the party’s faith in victory rests on credible, impartial voting processes.
“The NDC does not seek to win elections through unfair means. We want transparency and fairness. Under such conditions, we are confident we will defeat the NPP,” he stated, adding that the NPP’s internal processes have been marked by alleged irregularities, including the creation of an anti-rigging squad during party primaries.
Tanko-Computer argued that the NPP’s lack of broad public support would be exposed in a transparent election, while the NDC’s inclusive governance approach and policy direction provide a solid foundation for voter confidence.
He also reiterated the party’s commitment to closely monitor electoral processes to safeguard democratic integrity and ensure that elections reflect the genuine will of Ghanaians.
The statements come as political activity intensifies ahead of upcoming elections, with parties increasingly highlighting credibility, transparency, and public trust in their campaigns.
