The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western North Region has begun construction of a new regional office in Sefwi-Wiawso as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s organisational structures and coordinate its activities more effectively.
The Western North Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Michael Aidoo, together with other regional executives, cut the sod for the construction of the ultra-modern office.
Mr Aidoo said the facility would serve as a central hub for the party’s activities in the region and provide a permanent space for coordinating party operations, engaging stakeholders and supporting constituency structures.
He said the decision to construct the facility reflected the commitment of the regional leadership and members to building a stronger and more functional party structure.
According to him, the project was being financed entirely from the party’s own resources, demonstrating the willingness of members and executives to invest in strengthening the NDC’s presence in the region.
Mr Aidoo said a well-resourced regional office was essential to improving coordination among the party’s nine constituencies and enhancing engagement with supporters.
He also disclosed that the regional leadership was determined to expand the party’s parliamentary representation, particularly in areas where the NDC had lost ground.
He specifically pledged that the party would intensify its efforts to reclaim the Suaman Constituency parliamentary seat in the next general election.
Mr Joseph Appiah, the Akontombra District Chief Executive, who spoke on behalf of the Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region, said the new office would provide the NDC with a functional base for coordinating its programmes and strengthening engagement with party supporters and other stakeholders.
He said the facility, when completed, would contribute to improving the party’s organisational capacity and provide a suitable environment for its regional activities.
The sod-cutting ceremony was attended by all nine constituency chairpersons in the Western North Region, alongside other party executives and supporters.
The project is expected to become a key administrative and operational centre for the NDC as the party seeks to consolidate its structures and strengthen its political activities across the Western North Region.
