The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has expanded its presence in the Oti Region with the commissioning of a new ultra-modern office, a move expected to improve access to vehicle and driver licensing services while stimulating local economic activity.
At the commissioning ceremony, Buem Member of Parliament Kofi Adams urged staff of the new office to uphold professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He emphasised that public confidence in state institutions depends on transparency and ethical conduct.
The MP cautioned employees against engaging in corrupt practices, reminding them that their salaries adequately compensate them for their services. He encouraged them to focus on delivering efficient, customer-friendly services that promote development and enhance road safety in the region.
Mr. Adams further stressed the need for improved service delivery systems, noting that efficiency, discipline and a positive attitude are essential to building trust between the DVLA and the public.
Jasikan Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Parke-Davis Magyigbe, described the new centre as a significant boost to the municipality, saying it would create employment opportunities, support local businesses and contribute to economic growth.
He called on residents to protect the facility and ensure it remains operational to serve the wider community effectively.
The MCE also commended Mr. Yaw Osei, Director of Tacos JP Limited — operators of the new DVLA centre — for his commitment to the area, and praised the MP for championing initiatives that bring development closer to the people.
The new facility is expected to reduce travel time for residents seeking DVLA services and enhance regulatory compliance in the region.
