The Acting Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Tameklo, is set to play a central role in shaping Africa’s energy transition as he joins a high-level panel at the Africa Energy Technology Conference today, May 28, 2025.
Taking place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the conference brings together energy leaders, experts, and policymakers under the theme: “Africa’s Gas Potential: Monetisation and Its Role as a Transition Fuel.”
Mr. Tameklo’s presence signals Ghana’s growing voice in the continental conversation on leveraging natural gas not only as an economic asset but also as a cleaner alternative in Africa’s energy mix.
His contribution will focus on policy innovation, regulatory reforms, and infrastructure investments necessary to unlock the full value of the continent’s gas reserves—positioning gas as a bridge between traditional energy systems and renewable futures.
The Africa Energy Technology Conference, now a key calendar event for the sector, is expected to influence regional policy direction and industry investment decisions, with Mr. Tameklo’s insights underscoring the NPA’s ambition to steer Ghana and Africa toward energy security and sustainability.
