The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Third National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has dismissed allegations that he interfered in the relationship between Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam and the woman who is now his second wife.
Popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, the NPP executive said the marriage followed the end of the musician’s relationship with the woman, insisting that he did not take another man’s partner.
Addressing the controversy, Alhaji Masawudu said he had no personal dispute with Fancy Gadam and described the claims against him as inaccurate.
“Fancy Gadam and I do not have any problem. I met him once in a restaurant in Accra,” he stated.
According to him, the woman had already separated from the musician before he expressed interest in her, adding that the relationship between the two had ended before his involvement.
He questioned why he was being accused of wrongdoing for marrying someone whose previous relationship had already come to an end.
“People are accusing me of being a wife snatcher, but that is not true. I do not know whether it is a crime to propose to a woman who was previously in a relationship that has ended. They were no longer together,” he said in a video shared on social media.
Chairman Buga Buga further claimed that Fancy Gadam had previously spoken publicly about the end of the relationship, reinforcing his position that there was no interference.
He explained that his decision to marry the woman was not rushed, saying he took time to build a relationship with her before making a commitment.
“As a man of my status, I would not just date a woman casually. After knowing her for about two months, I married her, and she is now my second wife,” he said.
The comments come after discussions on social media surrounding his marriage, with some users questioning the circumstances under which the relationship began.
The NPP executive maintained that the marriage was based on mutual consent and occurred after the woman’s previous relationship had ended.
