Owner of Obaatanpa Radio, Kwadwo Anim, says he is unperturbed by reports that the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Asiedu, has sued his station over alleged false publications.
Speaking on Adom FM’s *Dwaso Nsem*, Mr. Anim disclosed that he has not been served with any court documents and is therefore unaware of any legal action against him.
“I haven’t received any court summons, nor have I heard anything about it. If he has indeed sued me, I am in my office and he can serve me,” he stated.
Mr. Anim stressed that Obaatanpa Radio conducts its operations professionally and remains committed to factual and truthful reporting.
“I am not shaken or frightened. I am operating my business, and everything we are doing is based on the truth and facts. My workers are professionals, and we are working within the legal framework,” he said.
He maintained that the station has nothing to fear and is prepared to defend itself should the matter proceed to court.
“So if he has sued me, we will go to court. People sometimes don’t like the truth,” he added.
Mr. Anim also dismissed claims of strained relations between the station and the Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Seth Banini.
According to him, there is no personal conflict with the MCE, whom he described as someone with whom he has enjoyed a cordial relationship.
“There is no bad blood between us and the MCE. He is my son, and during his swearing-in, he came to me for support, and we readily assisted him. So I don’t have any problem with him,” he said.
His comments come after Richard Asiedu confirmed that he had filed a suit at the High Court against Obaatanpa Radio, accusing the station of persistently publishing false reports intended to create disunity within the NDC in the Awutu Senya East Constituency. The confirmation followed allegations that he and other party officials stormed the station, disrupted operations and ordered staff to leave the premises.
