Former Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Chief Executive Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah has urged Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu to focus on resolving persistent problems across the sector, saying meetings and promises have not delivered enough progress.
Speaking on Angel FM Kumasi, Prof. Addai-Mensah cited teachers’ strikes, university administrative challenges and difficulties with senior high school placements as issues requiring lasting solutions.
He said repeated assurances during negotiations, if not followed by action, risk undermining trust and setting the stage for further industrial disputes. Parents and other stakeholders, he argued, need tangible improvements rather than high-profile consultations.
Prof. Addai-Mensah also questioned the minister’s leadership and said the government should review his performance if the disruptions continue without meaningful progress.
