Fresh footage circulating on social media has renewed public discussion about the state of a large mansion linked to Ghanaian politician Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, as attention shifts to the building’s apparent deterioration amid his ongoing legal challenges.
The structure, located at Agric Nzema in the Ashanti Region, first gained widespread attention in 2023 for its size and luxury design, with reports estimating its value between $5 million and $7 million. Originally described as a private residence under construction, the property became a symbol of public curiosity and debate over its funding and purpose.
However, a recent visit by a TikTok content creator has painted a different picture, showing what appears to be an abandoned site. In the new footage, sections of the building are seen with fading paint, visible cracks on exterior walls, and overgrown vegetation surrounding the compound. Some decorative frames that once adorned the walls are also reported to be missing or fallen off.
The once-prominent gate, which features designs resembling Ghana’s national symbols, is also shown in a state of neglect, adding to concerns raised by viewers online.
The development comes at a time when Chairman Wontumi is facing ongoing court proceedings connected to allegations of illegal mining activities, with multiple cases currently before the Accra High Court. Authorities, including the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), have also taken action involving the freezing of accounts and seizure of vehicles linked to him.
Reactions on social media have been divided, with some users expressing concern about the condition of the property, while others caution against drawing conclusions, linking the situation to his ongoing legal and financial issues.
The latest visuals have reignited public debate about wealth, accountability, and political influence in Ghana, as the case continues to unfold.
