Former Deputy Minister for Energy, Collins Adomako Mensah, has urged the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, to shift focus from repeatedly outlining Ghana’s energy sector challenges to implementing tangible solutions.
Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Friday, March 7, Adomako Mensah acknowledged the sector’s difficulties but emphasized that Ghanaians are more concerned about solutions than continuous discussions about the crisis.
“We are three months past the election, and today is March 7. My very good friend and brother, Mr. John Jinapor, should change his strategy and focus on fixing the problem instead of always reminding us of the sector’s challenges. Everybody knows there are issues,” he stated.
His comments come in response to Jinapor’s recent remarks, in which he described Ghana’s energy sector as being in a dire state, citing persistent power outages, rising costs, and financial struggles among energy providers.
Adomako Mensah believes that rather than reiterating the sector’s struggles, the government must focus on policy interventions and immediate measures to address the power crisis and stabilize the industry.
