Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he described as a successful demonstration of its internal democratic processes following the party’s 2026 National Annual Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
Nana Akufo-Addo congratulated the newly elected national executives, led by Chairman John Boadu, and wished them a successful tenure as they assume responsibility for the party’s affairs.
In a social media post, the former President described Mr Boadu as a dedicated party worker and extended his best wishes to him and the other newly elected national officers.
“I congratulate equally warmly the newly elected national executive officers of the Party, led by the dedicated Party worker, the new Chairman John Boadu, and extend my best wishes for a fruitful mandate,” he said.
Nana Akufo-Addo also commended the outgoing National Executive Committee, led by former Acting National Chairman Danquah Smith Buttey, for its role in the transition.
He further acknowledged the National Officers Elections Committee, chaired by Frederick Opare Ansah, as well as the delegates who participated in the conference.
According to the former President, the successful conclusion of the conference reflected the NPP’s tradition of internal participation and democratic organisation.
“The Conference has, once again, demonstrated the vibrancy of the New Patriotic Party’s internal democratic processes,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to all individuals who contributed to the organisation and conduct of the conference, as the party begins a new phase under its newly elected national leadership.
