New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organiser aspirant, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi, has proposed a decentralised structure for the party’s Youth Wing, saying stronger grassroots organisation would be central to rebuilding the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Ms Bram-Larbi said her decision to contest the position was driven by the desire to produce measurable results rather than merely occupy an executive position.
“I am not going for the position just for the title. I want to make a tangible impact,” she said in an interview with UTV.
She said one of her priorities would be to decentralise the Youth Wing Secretariat and strengthen its presence at the grassroots to enable young party members to participate more effectively in the party’s activities.
According to her, the proposed restructuring would help address organisational weaknesses within the party and improve its ability to engage supporters at the local level.
Ms Bram-Larbi also said the NPP needed to critically reflect on its performance and internal organisation as it prepared for the next general election.
She identified the mobilisation and engagement of young people as an important component of that process and said the Youth Wing required leadership capable of translating its structures into sustained grassroots activity.
She also attributed the party’s inability to effectively communicate the achievements of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration to internal disunity.
While praising the former President’s work ethic, she said divisions within the party affected its ability to adequately showcase and communicate what she described as the administration’s accomplishments.
Ms Bram-Larbi said the experience should inform efforts to strengthen cohesion and communication within the party.
Her campaign comes as the NPP prepares for its national executive elections scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Kumasi. Six aspirants have been listed for the National Youth Organiser position, including Ms Bram-Larbi.
She is presenting her candidacy around organisational reform, youth mobilisation and stronger grassroots structures as the party begins preparations for the 2028 elections.
