The Koforidua High Court has issued a Substituted Order compelling Frank Annoh Dompreh, the Electoral Commission (EC), and the Clerk of Parliament to appear in court as part of an ongoing election petition challenging the 2024 parliamentary results for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency.
The petition, filed by Mr. Selorm of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), disputes the legitimacy of Annoh Dompreh’s declaration as Member of Parliament (MP) and seeks a judicial review of the election outcome.
To ensure the respondents were properly notified, a court bailiff served the order on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at multiple strategic locations, including:
The High Court
The NPP Office
The Electoral Commission
The Police Station
The Main Lorry Station
Fawe FM and various information centers within the constituency
Court Hearing Set for March 14
The case has been scheduled for a March 14, 2025 hearing, where all respondents are expected to appear before the Koforidua High Court. The ruling could have far-reaching political implications for both the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency and national politics.
In a statement signed by Noah Agbeko Dumenya, the NDC Constituency Secretary, the party called for unity and support, emphasizing their pursuit of justice for Mr. Selorm, the NDC, and the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri.
With tensions rising over the outcome of the election, all eyes are on the court’s next steps in determining the validity of Annoh Dompreh’s victory.
