President John Dramani Mahama will host Petr Pavel, the President of the Czech Republic, for a three-day State Visit from April 8 to April 10, 2025.
This visit marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Czech President will visit Ghana since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ghana and the former Czechoslovakia in 1959.
The visit also represents a significant moment in President Mahama’s term, being the first State Visit he will host since resuming office in January 2025.
President Pavel’s itinerary will include important bilateral talks with President Mahama, focused on strengthening ties between the two countries.
Additionally, he will attend a business forum aimed at fostering economic collaboration and inaugurate a health facility funded by the Czech government, further cementing the Czech Republic’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s development.
While in Ghana, President Pavel will visit cultural and historical landmarks, such as the Osu Castle and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, to deepen his understanding of the country’s rich heritage.
The visit will culminate in a State Dinner hosted by President Mahama, where discussions on various areas of cooperation between the two nations are expected to continue.
This landmark visit is anticipated to pave the way for increased cooperation in sectors like health, business, and education, fostering a stronger Ghana-Czech relationship.
