As the New Patriotic Party convenes 5,675 delegates at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on July 18–19 to chart its 2028 course, campaign strategist Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku has pressed for sweeping internal reforms before selecting a presidential candidate.
Posting on Facebook, Dr. Opoku argued that the party’s “extremely weak” machinery demands “bottom‑top structure elections” to strengthen ward and constituency branches.
His intervention comes just days before the National Delegates Conference, where chiefs of logistics, like Planning Committee Chairman Joseph Osei‑Owusu, are finalizing security and organizational plans to accommodate party executives, grassroots representatives, and stakeholders under one roof.
This dual focus—bolstering local party frameworks while ensuring a smoothly run conference—underscores the NPP’s urgent need to rebuild from the ground up after its 2024 defeat.
As logistical preparations wrap at headquarters in Asylum Down, the stage is set for both logistical precision on the stadium lawn and spirited debates on empowering the rank and file across Ghana.
