A renewed call for stronger collaboration between religious institutions and government took centre stage as Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, wrapped up his Easter engagements in Accra.
Joining congregations of the Church of Pentecost in Sakumono and La on Resurrection Sunday, the Minister emphasised the critical role churches continue to play in shaping national values and supporting development, particularly in education, healthcare and moral guidance.
The visits formed part of a broader nationwide outreach during the Easter season, aimed at strengthening ties with Christian communities while promoting a shared vision of unity and national progress.
Rather than focusing solely on celebration, the gatherings became moments of reflection and intercession, with congregants offering prayers for the country, its leadership and future direction. Special prayers were said for the President and government officials, asking for wisdom and integrity in leadership.
Drawing from the message of Jesus Christ, the Minister highlighted the importance of sacrifice, integrity and renewal, urging citizens to translate these values into actions that advance national development.
He stressed that ethical leadership and responsible citizenship must go hand in hand, calling on both leaders and the public to uphold truth, justice and loyalty in their daily responsibilities.
The Minister also used the platform to advocate for greater inclusion of women and active participation of the youth in national development, describing both groups as essential pillars for building a resilient and prosperous Ghana.
The Easter engagements concluded with a strong message: national transformation requires not only policy and leadership, but also spiritual support and collective commitment from all sectors of society.
