The Ministry of Education has directed an urgent investigation into acts of violence captured in viral videos allegedly involving students from two schools in the Central Region.
In a strongly worded statement signed by Deputy Minister Clement Abas Apaak, the Ministry described the incidents as unacceptable and assured the public that firm action would follow.
The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been instructed to immediately probe the matter. As part of the response, the Director-General is expected to meet with the Central Regional Director of GES, the affected district directors and the heads of the schools involved at the GES headquarters in Accra on February 23, 2026.
The Ministry stressed that both the Minister and Deputy Minister for Education are treating the situation with the utmost seriousness, warning that individuals found culpable should expect the “most severe sanctions.”
Reaffirming its commitment to discipline and student safety, the Ministry pledged to implement appropriate corrective measures once investigations are concluded, underscoring its resolve to maintain order across Ghana’s educational institutions.
