Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Ellembelle Constituency have received a major boost to their participation in national advocacy efforts following a GH¢10,000 donation from their Member of Parliament, Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah.
The financial support was provided to enable members of the Association of Persons with Disabilities in Ellembelle to cover transportation costs to attend their annual national conference in the Savannah Region. The request for assistance was submitted to the MP’s office ahead of the event.
The donation was presented on behalf of Mr. Buah by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Shaibu Dauda Vanda, during a brief ceremony held at Ampain in the Western Region. According to Mr. Vanda, the gesture reflects the MP’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and empowering livelihoods within the constituency.
He reiterated Mr. Buah’s assurance of continuous support for persons with disabilities, noting that their welfare remains a key priority in his constituency-focused interventions.
Receiving the donation, the Secretary of the Association in Ellembelle, Mr. Haruna Afful, expressed gratitude to the MP for his timely response, saying the support would make it possible for members to fully participate in the conference and contribute to discussions affecting persons with disabilities nationwide.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Isaac Esah, a government appointee representing the Disability Association at the Ellembelle District Assembly, commended Mr. Buah for his consistent assistance to the less privileged. He encouraged the MP to continue extending humanitarian support to vulnerable groups as part of efforts to promote inclusive development.
