A former parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Klottey Korle constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, is facing serious legal challenges in the United States following his arrest in connection with an alleged domestic incident.
Mr. Nortey, 41, a resident of Harrisburg, was reportedly taken into custody after an incident involving his wife on Saturday, January 17, 2026. US authorities have since charged him with attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and no further information has been released by law enforcement at this stage.
The development has drawn attention due to Mr. Nortey’s previous involvement in Ghanaian politics, where he contested the Klottey Korle parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NPP.
Legal proceedings are expected to continue in the United States as investigators work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.
