The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawase Constituency of the Ashanti Region has taken disciplinary action against four of its members over allegations of engaging in activities that undermine the party’s unity and objectives.
Those affected by the suspension include Murtala Muhammed, the Branch Youth Organizer for Malam Kataki; Farida Mohammed, the Branch Women’s Organizer for Malam Ladan; Aminu Issah, the Branch Communications Officer for Methodist Home Science JSS 2; and Salisu Sanusi, the Branch Communications Officer for Methodist JSS.
The party’s leadership in the constituency says the decision was taken to preserve discipline and cohesion within its ranks, adding that the four members were found to have breached the party’s code of conduct, though the specific nature of their alleged offenses has not been disclosed.
Sources within the party indicate that the suspension is part of a broader effort to enforce internal discipline ahead of the 2028 general elections, as the NDC seeks to consolidate its support base in the Ashanti Region, a critical battleground in Ghanaian politics.
Party insiders also suggest that the four suspended members could face further sanctions depending on the outcome of ongoing investigations.
