The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a viral video allegedly depicting inappropriate conduct involving the teacher and a student. The decision forms part of ongoing investigations into the matter.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, GES said it had become aware of the disturbing video circulating on social media and had immediately initiated investigations to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
Pending the outcome of the investigations, the Service directed that the teacher be interdicted in accordance with its rules and regulations. GES stressed that the measure is intended to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations.
The Service reiterated its strong opposition to any form of amorous relationship between teachers and students, emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct within educational institutions.
GES further reminded staff members of their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and conduct at all times, warning that any individual found culpable would face disciplinary and legal consequences.
Management also assured parents, students, and the general public that the safety, protection, and well-being of learners remain a top priority. According to the statement, appropriate action will be taken against anyone found guilty following the investigations.
