Ghana is ramping up efforts to attract high-value international partnerships, with a strong emphasis on technology, innovation, and industrial expansion.
During a meeting with Singapore’s High Commissioner, Simon Madjie, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, highlighted the country’s evolving investment landscape, stressing that recent reforms are designed to remove barriers and open up opportunities for global investors.
Rather than relying solely on traditional sectors, Ghana is now positioning itself as a destination for forward-looking industries. Interest from the Singaporean delegation focused heavily on fintech, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation—areas seen as critical to the country’s economic transformation.
Mr. Madjie pointed to policy changes such as the removal of minimum capital requirements and reduced entry thresholds as signals of Ghana’s commitment to making its market more accessible and competitive.
He also underscored opportunities in agro-processing, energy, and manufacturing, particularly under the government’s 24-hour economy initiative, which aims to boost productivity and drive sustained growth.
The engagement reflects a broader shift in Ghana’s investment strategy—one that prioritises innovation, skills development, and strategic global partnerships to position the country as a leading business hub in Africa.
