The August 6 Helicopter Tragedy Victims’ Children’s Support Fund has mobilised more than GH¢10 million and $20,000 to support the welfare and long-term needs of children who lost their parents in the fatal crash.
A statement issued by Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, published a comprehensive list of donors who contributed between October 17, 2025, and February 7, 2026. The disclosure, she noted, is part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in managing the Fund.
Major contributors include Ghana Reinsurance Company, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Vitol Ghana Services Limited, Kosmos Energy Ghana, as well as several individuals, presidential staffers, allied health professionals, and other private donors.
The Fund was established to provide sustained financial assistance for education, healthcare, and general welfare of the affected children, ensuring they are not left vulnerable in the aftermath of the tragedy.
To encourage continued support, the statement outlined multiple payment options, including Ghana Cedi and US Dollar accounts at Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra). Cheques and bank drafts are to be made payable to Children Support Fund 6825, while mobile money payment platforms are also available.
The publication of the donor list signals the Fund’s ongoing commitment to openness while rallying further public and corporate backing to safeguard the future of the bereaved children.
