Popular political commentator and host of With All Due Respect on Loud Silence TV, Kevin Ekow Taylor, has issued a strong warning to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), threatening to campaign against the party in the 2028 elections if it fails to take decisive action against Gifty Oware-Mensah in the ongoing National Service Scheme (NSS) ghost names scandal.
Taylor, known for his outspoken stance on corruption, expressed disappointment in the NDC, accusing the party of failing Ghanaians by not taking swift action against Oware-Mensah despite overwhelming evidence of wrongdoing. He alleged that former President Nana Akufo-Addo is lobbying President John Mahama to shield her from prosecution—a move he described as a betrayal of public trust.
Speaking on his show, Taylor reminded the NDC that Ghanaians voted the NPP out due to widespread corruption, placing their hopes in the opposition to hold corrupt officials accountable.
“If the NDC fails to act, they are no different from the NPP. The people will not sit back and watch. If Mahama refuses to prosecute those responsible, I will personally lead a campaign against the party in 2028,” he warned.
The ghost names scandal at the National Service Scheme involved fraudulent payroll practices, reportedly costing the state millions of cedis. Gifty Oware-Mensah, a former Deputy Director under the NPP administration, was interrogated by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and later granted bail.
Public outrage over the case has been growing, with many calling for justice regardless of political affiliation. Taylor insists that the NDC’s credibility is on the line, urging the party to prove its commitment to fighting corruption or face political consequences in the next election.
