NDC Communications Team Member, Louisa Kwakye, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership in driving economic recovery through local production and fiscal responsibility.
Speaking on *Good Morning Ghana* on Metro TV, Kwakye highlighted Mahama’s efforts to lead by example, particularly in promoting made-in-Ghana products.
“One key thing that His Excellency is doing now is to walk the talk. A majority of state programs he attends, he wears made-in-Ghana outfits,” she noted.
Beyond symbolism, she emphasized Mahama’s strategic focus on strengthening local industries as a foundation for economic recovery.
“If you notice the direction of his fiscal policy, spending, and efforts to recoup what we have lost over the years, he seeks to do that with local production, manufacturing, and adding value to the things we create and manufacture in this country,” she added.
Kwakye also commended Mahama’s commitment to gender balance in governance, pointing to his efforts to promote women in leadership.
“You saw two men and two women standing on that stage—gender equality, gender equity balance at play,” she observed.
She further highlighted Mahama’s pledge to ensure that at least 30% of his appointees are women, with aspirations to surpass this target.
With International Women’s Week being observed, Kwakye stressed that Mahama’s approach reflects a strong commitment to inclusivity and progressive governance.
