In a renewed push to deepen cooperation between government and workers, John Dramani Mahama has invited Organised Labour to a high-level Presidential Dialogue focused on key reforms affecting public sector employees and the wider labour market.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Jubilee House, and is expected to serve as a strategic platform for direct engagement between the Presidency and labour leaders.
A formal invitation issued by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, indicates that discussions will centre on public sector salary reforms, pension sustainability, and other pressing labour-related concerns. The dialogue forms part of the government’s broader economic stabilisation and reform agenda.
The Presidency says the engagement is designed to build consensus around reforms that are equitable, transparent, and financially sustainable, while protecting worker welfare and promoting social justice. It also underscores Ghana’s longstanding tradition of social partnership and structured consultation between government and Organised Labour.
Labour unions and key stakeholders have been asked to confirm their participation and nominate representatives for the session. The President is expected to use the forum to strengthen collaboration and secure labour’s support as the administration advances its reform programme.
