President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in London ahead of his participation in the 2026 Financial Times (FT) Africa Summit, where he is expected to contribute to discussions on the continent’s economic transformation and investment prospects.
President Mahama, who chairs the Presidential Council of the Accra Reset initiative, is scheduled to address the summit this morning, sharing his perspectives on the opportunities and challenges confronting African economies in an evolving global economic landscape.
The two-day summit brings together heads of state, global business executives and institutional financiers to explore ways of accelerating inclusive growth, mobilising investment and strengthening partnerships to support Africa’s development.
His participation comes at a time when African countries are seeking strategies to expand economic opportunities, attract capital and strengthen their position in the global economy.
Following his engagements in the United Kingdom, President Mahama is expected to travel to Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, to lead the 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa in his capacity as Chairperson of the Forum.
At the security gathering, he is expected to formally present the State of Security in Africa Report on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The two engagements will place President Mahama at the centre of discussions on Africa’s economic prospects, investment opportunities, peace and security, as well as the continent’s wider development priorities.
