President John Dramani Mahama has laid out an ambitious eight-point blueprint to rebuild Ghana’s economy, placing investor confidence, inclusive growth, and strategic sector reforms at the center of national recovery efforts.
Addressing participants at the 9th Ghana CEO Summit, President Mahama moved beyond short-term fixes to present a long-term vision for economic transformation. His strategy includes restoring macroeconomic stability, improving fiscal governance, and leveraging private capital to drive growth—particularly as Ghana aims to exit the IMF programme by 2026.
“This strategy is not just about stabilisation—it’s about creating a resilient, inclusive economy that works for all Ghanaians,” Mahama said.
A major highlight was his reaffirmation of Ghana’s commitment to completing the fourth IMF programme review by June 2025. He emphasized that achieving this milestone will help restore market confidence and open the door for broader policy autonomy.
Beyond fiscal discipline and debt sustainability, Mahama’s plan includes measures to improve public sector efficiency, drive innovation, boost infrastructure investment, and expand support for local businesses.
Stakeholders from across the business and development sectors welcomed the detailed roadmap as a sign of renewed leadership and a proactive stance on rebuilding trust with investors and the global financial community.
