MTN Ghana has announced a major downward review of its fibre broadband tariffs, significantly reducing the cost of high-speed internet services following engagements with the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.
Under the new pricing structure, the operator’s unlimited 100 Mbps broadband package has been cut from GHS 987 to GHS 299 per month, a move expected to make home and business internet services far more affordable.
The revised tariffs also introduce new price points for higher-speed options. The unlimited 300 Mbps package will now cost GHS 444 per month, while the top-tier unlimited 500 Mbps package has been set at GHS 999.
The changes were announced by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, who explained that the adjustments followed sustained discussions aimed at improving affordability, service quality, and reliability of broadband services nationwide.
The Ministry says it will continue to engage telecom operators to drive down data costs and expand access as part of Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda.
With rising demand for reliable internet driven by remote work, online education, e-commerce, and digital services, the price reduction is expected to significantly boost broadband adoption across households and businesses.
Officials believe the new tariffs will help narrow the digital access gap and support economic activity by making high-speed connectivity more accessible to a wider segment of the population.
