The National Identification Authority (NIA) has expanded its Ghana Card service delivery model with the introduction of a 24-hour Prestige Centre aimed at providing applicants with faster and more flexible access to identity registration services.
The new facility, located at Labone in Accra, is expected to commence operations on Saturday, August 1, 2026, offering round-the-clock services throughout the week, including weekends.
The NIA said the initiative is designed to respond to growing demand for convenient access to Ghana Card registration and related services, particularly among individuals who may be unable to visit traditional registration centres during regular working hours.
In a statement signed by the Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, the Authority explained that the Prestige Centre will operate as a premium fee-based service, with applicants required to pay approved charges for services provided.
According to the NIA, the facility is not intended to replace existing registration centres but will serve as an additional option for applicants seeking quicker service delivery, greater convenience and enhanced customer experience.
The Authority said the Labone centre represents the first phase of a wider plan to establish more Prestige Centres across the country.
It added that details of additional locations would be communicated once the centres become operational.
The NIA reaffirmed its commitment to improving Ghana’s identity management system by making registration services more accessible, efficient, secure and responsive to the needs of eligible applicants.
