Northern Regional Minister, Adolf Ali John, has issued a directive for the Northern Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz, to vacate a government bungalow she continues to occupy despite no longer holding an official position in the current administration.
Her prolonged stay in the residence, which is designated for the Northern Regional Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme, has caused frustration among party supporters and left the newly appointed coordinator without official accommodation.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony of the School Feeding office at the Regional Coordinating Council, Minister Adolf Ali John emphasized the need for Hajia Rahana Abdul Aziz to vacate the premises by April 2025 to allow the rightful occupant to move in.
“Since power has changed, I was expecting that whoever was occupying the bungalow would have vacated by now to allow their successor to take over. Unfortunately, that has not happened. For now, I can only appeal to the person to do the needful so we can prepare the place for the new official,” the minister stated.
The situation has stirred discontent among NPP supporters, who argue that the continued occupation of the residence by a former official is inappropriate. The minister’s call underscores efforts to ensure a smooth transition and proper allocation of government resources.
